Kronospan is a leader in manufacturing materials for the furniture and woodworking industry, focusing on high quality and environmental care.

The company has over 40 production plants in Europe, the United States, and China.

 

Challenges

Due to the nature of Kronospan's business, which includes the sale of furniture boards and countertops, the standard product catalog did not allow for customization to individual customer needs.

Customers could not order boards cut and edged to size, which limited the personalization of orders and affected customer satisfaction.

Goals and tasks

To address these challenges, integration with an external partner, e-rozrys, was initiated to enable the sale of custom-sized products. The project tasks included:
 

  • Adding a "Custom Cutting Order" button on the product page.
  • Displaying a configuration window where the customer can:
  • Select the product for cutting.
  • Set the dimensions and quantity of cut boards.
  • Choose the edging.
  • Select the grain direction.
  • Decide on the delivery of waste materials.
  • Providing the customer with the costs of the customized order before placing it, detailing the costs of individual services.
  • Generating a cutting plan file and sending it to the appropriate unit for execution.
  • Order handling through the strefaplyt.pl.
  • Post-sale contact with the customer to arrange a convenient form of transport.
